In Between Waking and Dreaming © A.Riggs 2008

In between waking and dreaming
I almost went out of my mind
All of my thoughts and emotions
Were reduced to computer code line
Information age nightmare, an intensely compelling bad dream
Crossed the border to waking and I fought off the urge to scream
In between waking and dreaming

It seemed like something was missing
Like a drowning man fighting for air
A computerized cybernaut brain
T'was as if I was only half there
Overactive imagination losing my grip on reality
A space age hallucination with no sense of identity
In between waking and dreaming

Myself I have always considered
Of realist rational mind
Walked up to the edge and looked over
Got a view of the other side
And now looking back I conclude, about what it does mean
The result of too much time spent in front of a computer screen
In between waking and dreaming
